Opening Night at The Aisling Gallery in Ballydehob

Last Friday evening saw the opening of a joint show of new paintings by Donagh and fellow West Cork artist, Janet Murran at the Aisling Gallery in Ballydehob.  Both artists take inspiration from the West Cork rural landscape to create a diverse collections of paintings.  Janet's new work, Garden of Eden, shows the viewer the often overlooked grasses, flowers and ferns of hedgerows.  Donagh's oil sketches feature the less common views of local villages and landscapes alongside his oil painting series, Three Towers, based on Three Castles Head on the Mizen Peninsula.

The gallery is above Rosie's Bar on the main street in Ballydehob and is open Monday to Friday from 4-9pm and Saturday & Sunday from 2-9pm.  The exhibition continues until Monday 25th September.
