Commissioning an oil sketch can be a very rewarding process and Donagh is happy to discuss your ideas or requirements without any commitment. Typically, you may have a particular view in mind, such as a town, land or seascape or a house or building of significance to you. Once Donagh has established what you would like, he will arrange a visit to the chosen location to gain a better understanding of the setting, the way sunlight plays on the scene and how to approach the composition. He will make drawings and sketches as well as taking photographic references. Donagh is happy to discuss how an oil sketch can be created that reflects his own style and your ideas.
Donagh would be prepared to travel to your location, either in Ireland or internationally, but unless he happened to be in the area, travel expenses may not be included in the price of the oil sketch. Please contact Donagh to discuss the options.
Donagh has designed his own frames for the oil sketches which are included in the price.
Timescales vary according to the complexity of the piece and his current commitments. It is sometimes possible to accommodate a particular date, but please enquire as much in advance as possible if you have such a date in mind.
Donagh will also consider commissions for his larger scale paintings. Please enquire to discuss further.
